Get Yourself Out of A Rut
Full disclosure, I didn’t have a post up last week. I wasn’t feeling like my usual productive, badass self and I had no clue why. Every time I would get ready to write, something to waste my time with would pop up, and next thing you know, it was Monday morning and I had absolutely nothing to publish.
Thankfully, this weekend was a weekend of realizing things 😉. I went from feeling like I was in a hopeless cycle of unproductivity, to feeling completely inspired. I thought I’d share 3 things I learned that helped me get out my rut this weekend and get my groove back.
#1. Don’t beat yourself up about it
Yes, you haven’t brought yourself to do something you wanted to do.Ok, you get it. Don’t dwell on it, don’t punish yourself for it. That’s Okay. It’s not the end of the world. Acknowledge it and move on.
#2. Do Something That Makes You Happy
If you’re finding that what you’re doing isn’t bringing you the same amount of joy, change your scenery! This weekend, I went to a brunch with a refreshing group of ladies, attended my very first #GurlMuseumDay event , and ended feeling completely inspired! I had new experiences which got my creative juices flowing, and I had so much fun!
#3.Change, Rework, Repeat.
If your work schedule isn’t working anymore, change it. For example, I’m finding that taking an hour in the morning isn’t working for me the way it did before. Now, it’s a lot easier for me to set aside an hour at night to get my blogging done. Identify what’s no longer working and switch things up!
*Bonus* Take it Day by Day
Nuff said. Pay attention to yourself. Some days will be better than others, just make sure to celebrate even the smallest victories. And last but never least, be patient with yourself.
Now let’s go on and prosper!
